LazyCal Terms of Use

Terms of Use (EULA) for LazyCal.

These terms are between you and Talha Yousaf, an individual based in Ontario, Canada who operates LazyCal ("LazyCal," "we," "us," or "our"). "LazyCal" is the product and trade name, not a separate corporation — your agreement is with Talha Yousaf.

By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or using LazyCal, you agree to these terms and acknowledge the LazyCal Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

What LazyCal does

LazyCal is a fitness tracker for logging food, workouts, body weight, and goals, and for seeing your training rendered on a 3D muscle anatomy model. Optional Scan meal can suggest foods from a photo you take; you confirm before anything is logged.

LazyCal is not a medical device, medical service, dietitian, trainer, emergency service, or a substitute for professional advice. Nutrition values, calorie and macro targets, activity calculations, workout suggestions, progress estimates, catalogue data, and AI photo suggestions are informational and may be incomplete or inaccurate. The anatomy model is an artistic figure, not a medical reference.

You are responsible for checking your entries and making safe decisions about your body, training, and health. Consider talking to a qualified healthcare professional before starting or changing a diet, exercise program, or weight-management plan — especially if you are a minor, pregnant, injured, taking medication, managing a medical condition, or have a history of disordered eating. Stop and seek help if you feel pain, faintness, difficulty breathing, or anything else concerning. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.

Who can use LazyCal

You must be at least 13 years old.

If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use LazyCal only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. If privacy law in your country requires verified parental consent because you are below the digital-consent age, do not create an account until LazyCal offers an approved consent process.

You may not use LazyCal if the law where you live prohibits it.

Accounts and access

Some features require a LazyCal account. Account access may use Sign in with Apple or email authentication.

You agree to give accurate registration and profile information, use only accounts you are authorized to use, protect your device and credentials, tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use, and take responsibility for activity through your account — except where it was caused by our own breach of duty or where the law says otherwise.

Do not try to access another person's account or defeat authentication, entitlement, or security controls.

Apple's licence terms

LazyCal is distributed through Apple's App Store. Your licence to install and use the app is governed by Apple's then-current Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement and Apple Media Services terms. These terms govern your LazyCal account, content, subscription, support, and relationship with us, and are not meant to replace Apple's standard application licence.

You may use LazyCal only on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as Apple's usage rules permit. Apple is not responsible for LazyCal's content, account service, maintenance, or support. Direct questions and claims about LazyCal to us using the contact details at the end.

Subscriptions and purchases

LazyCal may offer auto-renewing subscriptions or other in-app purchases through Apple.

Before you buy, the LazyCal paywall and Apple's purchase sheet show you what is included, the product, billing period, localized price, applicable taxes, whether it renews automatically, and any trial or introductory offer and its duration. Those terms control the transaction — we do not promise a particular price, billing period, or trial here, including any 7-day Pro trial mentioned on lazycal.app. Apple's purchase sheet shows the trial length, what happens when it ends, the price afterward, and whether your Apple account is eligible. An introductory offer applies only if Apple identifies your Apple account as eligible; otherwise the ordinary price shown before purchase applies.

Apple processes payment through your Apple account. A subscription renews automatically for the displayed period unless you cancel through Apple's subscription settings. To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.

Cancelling normally stops the next renewal, and access continues through the period you paid for — though access to a free or discounted introductory offer may end immediately if Apple's terms say so. Cancelling does not generally refund a completed charge. Deleting your LazyCal account or deleting the app does not cancel an App Store subscription.

Refunds and billing disputes for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under its policies. Nothing here limits a refund, cancellation, cooling-off, or other remedy the law requires.

LazyCal uses RevenueCat and Apple purchase information to validate and restore access. You can use the in-app restore function where available; temporary delays can happen when Apple, RevenueCat, or the network are unavailable.

Promotions — including any founding-member, waitlist, launch, free-month, trial, or introductory offer — apply only under the eligibility, deadline, geography, one-offer limits, billing period, post-offer price, renewal, and cancellation terms shown for that promotion before you redeem it. A website announcement is not a guarantee that Apple will treat a particular account as eligible. If the displayed terms conflict with general promotional copy, do not purchase — contact us first.

Service changes and availability

We aim to keep LazyCal reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently available operation. Maintenance, defects, device limits, network conditions, provider outages, legal requirements, or security concerns can delay or prevent access.

We may add, change, limit, or discontinue features as the product develops, and may require a supported app version or operating system for security or compatibility. We will not knowingly remove a paid feature during an active paid period without providing any remedy the law requires.

If you rely on LazyCal for planning food, training, or progress, keep your own records and use judgment.

Your content

"Your content" means what you enter or submit: food and workout entries, custom foods, plans, notes, profile details, body-weight entries, meal photos you submit for Scan meal, support messages, and feedback.

You keep ownership of your content. You give us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, copy, transmit, format, synchronize, display back to you, and otherwise process it only as needed to provide, secure, maintain, and support the app, comply with law, and exercise legal rights. That licence ends when the content is deleted from active systems, subject to the retention limits in the Privacy Policy.

Your logs and plans are not designed as public posts. We do not acquire a right to sell your health or fitness information, use it for advertising, or train AI models on your health logs. Sending a meal photo to identify foods in that request is inference, not training.

You are responsible for making sure your content is information you have the right to provide, does not violate anyone's privacy or intellectual-property rights, contains no malware or unlawful material, and does not include unnecessary third-party medical records in a support request. Meal photos should be of food you are logging — not other people's faces, identity documents, or medical records.

If you send us a product suggestion, we may use it without restriction or compensation — but never contrary to the Privacy Policy.

Food data

LazyCal helps you find foods through catalogue search, barcode lookup, and optional Scan meal, using the FatSecret Platform food database, our own food catalogue (searched with Typesense Cloud), Open Food Facts, and — only if you photograph a meal — Google's Gemini API.

These results, including AI photo suggestions, are estimates and can be wrong. Portion size, hidden oils, sauces, mixed plates, and allergens are common misses. We do not guarantee nutrition accuracy, catalogue availability, barcode coverage, or photo identification. Scan meal is not allergen-safe, not medical nutrition therapy, and not a dietitian. LazyCal is not a medical device.

Nothing from a photo is saved until you confirm or edit it. Review entries before relying on them, and check the current product label when it matters — for allergens, ingredients, serving sizes, or a medical reason.

Voice food search sends audio to Apple for transcription and uses the resulting text as a search term.

Workouts and suggestions

LazyCal helps you track workouts, build or choose plans, record sets, and see simple suggestions based on your goal and history.

Workout suggestions are general fitness guidance — not individualized coaching, medical advice, or injury-prevention advice. Stop and seek professional help if something feels unsafe, painful, or medically concerning.

Apple Health and device permissions

Apple Health integration is optional and controlled by Apple's permission settings. If enabled, LazyCal may read body weight, workouts, and active energy, and write body-weight, workout, and supported nutrition entries you log. You can change access in iOS settings. Disabling it may stop the related feature from working and does not erase entries already written to Apple Health.

Camera, photo library, speech recognition, microphone, and notification permissions are also optional. You can change them in iOS settings.

Do not use LazyCal to write knowingly false or misleading health information into Apple Health. AI photo suggestions become Health data only after you confirm them.

Acceptable use

Do not:

• use LazyCal for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful purposes.
• access or try to access another person's account or non-public data.
• evade subscription, authentication, usage, rate, or security controls.
• probe, scan, disrupt, overload, or interfere with the app, website, API, or our providers.
• introduce malware, malicious code, or corrupted data.
• reverse engineer or decompile the app, except to the limited extent the law expressly permits.
• scrape, bulk-download, or systematically extract the food catalogue or other content except through an interface we authorized.
• copy, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit LazyCal without our written permission.
• misrepresent an affiliation with LazyCal, or infringe anyone's intellectual-property, privacy, or publicity rights.

Reasonable use of your own data, and rights granted to you by mandatory law, are never prohibited by this section.

Our intellectual property

Apart from your content, third-party content, and open-source components, LazyCal — its software, visual design, text, graphics, organization, features, and branding — is owned by or licensed to Talha Yousaf and protected by intellectual-property law.

These terms grant only the limited rights needed to use LazyCal. No ownership is transferred to you, and the LazyCal name and branding may not be used to suggest sponsorship or endorsement without written permission. Third-party food data, software, and assets remain subject to their own licences.

Privacy

The LazyCal Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how it is used — account details, subscription status, nutrition and workout logs, optional meal photos for Scan meal, body progress, optional Apple Health data, analytics, diagnostics, and support messages. It forms part of these terms.

Third-party services

LazyCal depends on third parties including Apple, Supabase, RevenueCat, FatSecret, Typesense Cloud, Google (Gemini API, only if you use Scan meal), Open Food Facts, Resend, Plausible, and Spaceship or Spacemail. Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy notices.

We are not responsible for a third-party service, outage, decision, content, policy, or fee merely because LazyCal links to it or works with it. This does not limit responsibility that the law does not let us exclude.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using LazyCal at any time, and can start account deletion in the app's account settings.

We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, LazyCal, or a provider; investigate suspected fraud, abuse, or a security incident; comply with law; address a material or repeated breach of these terms; or resolve a payment or entitlement problem. Where appropriate and legally permitted, we will give notice and a reasonable chance to fix a breach. We may terminate an account for serious or repeated misconduct.

Account deletion is governed by the Privacy Policy. It does not cancel an App Store subscription — cancel that separately through Apple.

Sections that should survive termination by their nature will survive: ownership, accrued payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limits, disputes, and the general terms.

Disclaimers

To the fullest extent allowed by law, LazyCal is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every purpose; that any calculation, catalogue entry, search result, AI photo suggestion, confirmed-but-wrong macro, or progress display is complete or accurate; that use will produce a particular health, fitness, nutrition, or weight result; or that all content can always be recovered.

Nothing here excludes an express written promise we make, Apple's obligations under its own terms, or a warranty or consumer right the law does not permit us to exclude. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, LazyCal and Talha Yousaf will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, opportunities, goodwill, or data arising from the service.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim related to LazyCal is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for LazyCal in the 12 months before the claim, or CAD $100.

These limits do not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, breaches of privacy or data-protection obligations to the extent liability cannot lawfully be limited, or any other liability or consumer remedy we are not permitted to limit. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Responsibility for misuse

To the extent the law allows, you are responsible for reasonable losses, liabilities, and costs arising directly from your unlawful use of LazyCal, material breach of these terms, infringement of someone else's rights, or content you had no right to provide.

This does not require a consumer to indemnify us for our own negligence, breach of law, or anything else for which indemnification cannot lawfully be required.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Before filing a claim, you and LazyCal agree to make a reasonable good-faith attempt to resolve it by contacting the other party with the concern and the resolution you want. This does not stop either party from seeking urgent relief, contacting a regulator, or using a small-claims process.

Subject to mandatory consumer law, disputes may be brought in the courts of Ontario, Canada. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of mandatory rights or protections where you ordinarily live, and you may be able to bring a claim in your local courts.

These terms do not require arbitration and do not waive any lawful right to take part in a class or representative proceeding.

Changes

We may update these terms as LazyCal, its providers, the law, or security needs change. We will update the "Last updated" date and give reasonable notice of material changes through the app, the website, or account email.

Unless the law says otherwise, material changes apply going forward from the stated effective date. If you do not agree to an update, stop using LazyCal and delete your account. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the change, where the law permits.

General

If a provision turns out to be unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest will continue to apply. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer these terms or your account without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a genuine reorganization, financing, or sale, subject to applicable privacy and consumer law. These terms, Apple's licence terms, the Privacy Policy, and the purchase terms shown at checkout form the whole agreement about LazyCal.
